This box contained an early version of the famous Favorit PWB derailleur. It looks as though it has been liberally pawed by generations of honest, oily-handed, mechanics - perhaps keen to imbibe the wisdom contained in the instructions printed on it. I believe that 'návod k obsluze a montáží' could be loosely translated as 'fitting and operating instructions'.

Both the box and the derailleur are clearly branded as 'Favorit'. However the lid adds the information that the derailleur is produced by ESKA of Cheb, in their Favorit factory in Rokycany. ESKA is clearly the parent company at this point.
